A bridging loan is short-term, specialist borrowing secured against property. As short-term finance it generally carries higher rates and fees than a standard mortgage, and you must have a clear, credible way to repay it (your exit). Your property may be repossessed or sold if you do not repay the loan as agreed. Some bridging finance is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and some is not. Always seek advice on your own situation before borrowing.
